Pinetop Homes / Pinetop Real Estate
Pinetop is part of the town of Pinetop-Lakeside which was incorporated in 1984. Pinetop, named after a saloon keeper, was once a town of its own and is the northern part of Pinetop-Lakeside. Pinetop still has its own post office and zip code, and the local folk seldom refer to where they live as Pinetop-Lakeside, but instead will say, “I live in Lakeside” or “I live in Pinetop.” At 7,200 feet you definitely have the fresh air and the four seasons. Recreation abounds with 5 lakes within two miles and numerous hiking trails within a 5 minute drive. There are 3 golf courses on the south end of Pinetop to choose from.
Pinetop which had very little significance in the early 1900s has now developed into one of the premier second home areas in Arizona. Pinetop Real Estate has come a long way. The Country Club area surrounds 2 golf courses and has over 2,000 lots. Pinetop homes, condos, and townhouses provide summer homes to many seasonal residents. Pinetop homes can also be found on acreage parcels from one half acre up to five, and in several nice subdivisions. If you are looking for a great home in a comfortable environment, the Pinetop Real Estate Market is the place to look.
The Four Seasons
Fishermen, Golfers, Hunters, Bikers, Hikers, Skiers and Nature Lovers find the four seasons irresistible. Spring is a time when the fish are really active and float tube fly fishermen have boasted catching and releasing over 40 fish in one day. Golfers are preparing for the summer season and just happy to play a few holes. Hunters have spring turkeys gobbling all over and the bikers and hikers are enjoying the crisp clean air of a spring day. Skiers are skiing and boarding in short sleeves at Sunrise and our Nature Lovers are watching the Robins and Humming Birds return for the summer.
We know summer is almost here when the oak leaves completely come out in their emerald green color. Then it’s time for everyone from the Valleys to come open their summer homes to get ready to escape the blistering heat. The Fishermen are on the lakes and the Hunters are either happy or mad cause of the big game draw. The archery shoot is at Sunrise and as well as downhill biking and the Hikers now have hundreds of miles of trails to choose from in the Apache Sitgraves Forest. The golfers are in heaven playing on some of the most scenic golf courses in Arizona. The Nature Lovers find pleasure almost anywhere, from the lakes and streams to watching the elk and deer a dusk, or just sitting under a big pine somewhere relaxing. As summer heats up, so do the monsoons. Almost every afternoon July and August it rains for about an hour. The coolness and smell of an afternoon thunderstorm is something that we all love here in Lakeside.
Fall is the time when the temperature changes giving us those crisp wonderful fall evenings. The fish are biting, the elk are bugling and the trails are once again deserted. The golf course seem deserted but playing on emerald green fairways with the fall color framing each hole is something to remember. The ski resort is getting ready for the winter snows and the leaves are nothing more than breathtaking as they change colors almost daily. At the end of fall most of our summer homeowners have gone home and it seems almost deserted.
Winter is here and there is ice fishing for the diehards. Now the golfers must travel to the flat lands to play. The ducks and geese are in the air and in all the local lakes. The hikers and bikers are slowed a bit, but for those of us who love to walk during a snowstorm, the quiet solitude is very rewarding. There is nothing like watching giant snowflakes come down outside while you are sitting by the fire. The snow piles up at Sunrise and out come the skis and boards for a great day at Sunrise.
